Foolish people still using tollways
It never ceases to amaze me how stupid a lot of the people in Cook County and the surrounding counties are. With the tolls jumping by 87 percent, I observed thousands of dupes using the tollway system on I-90 over the past few days. There were so many I couldn’t count. Is there no one who knows how to say no to the tollway commission?
If all of them would use alternate routes and cause traffic jams every day, we’d see how fast the tollway commission would cave in. But they just don’t know how to say no. I’m one person who knows how to say no, and the other day I had to use alternate routes to get to Chicago, thus not spending one cent on the tollway.
Maybe the tollway commission next will jack it up 200 percent because they found out how many fools there are to use their tollways. You wonder why the Chicago area and suburbs are the highest taxed in the U.S. -- it’s because people don’t know to tell anyone — particularly politicians — no. That’s the reason there is so much corruption in this area, because the people let them get away with it.
