Annual Legislative Breakfast scheduled for Jan. 19
Metro West Council of Government, a nonprofit organization that represents municipalities in Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties of Illinois, will hold its annual Legislative Breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd. in Geneva.
To date, the legislators who will attend are state Rep. Keith Farnham, District 43; state Rep. Michael Fortner, District 95; state Rep. Kay Hatcher, District 50; state Sen. Linda Holmes, District 42; state Sen. Chris Lauzen, District 25; state Rep. Robert Pritchard, District 70; and state Rep. Timothy Schmitz, District 49.
The legislators will address three specific legislative issues based on Metro West’s 2012 Legislative Positions.
Metro West fosters regional cooperation to address regional issues including managing growth, transportation and water conservation and promoting sustainable economic development. Metro West provides a united voice for municipalities and serves as their advocate. The council provides networking opportunities for area mayors and managers, which allow them to share ideas and address common issues.
