"My Son Pinocchio" is a lighthearted twist on the classic Pinocchio story.
The charming Blue Fairy (junior Salome Simmons) delights Geppetto (John Francis, Judson University, intern) by granting his wish for a son. However, Geppetto finds his newly-needed parenting skills to be a bit lacking! When Pinocchio (sixth-grader Griffin Foote) runs away to become a star in the show of the great puppet-master, Stromboli (junior Madison Tatum), Geppetto finds himself on a great adventure to bring his son back home!
Lively, entertaining singing and dancing through worlds such as Pleasure Island and Idyllia will captivate the audience throughout the musical, and add-on experiences such as the "Fairies in Training" intermission special for younger patrons will leave fans of all ages delighted with this magical performance.
With over 20 years of theatrical experience, Michelle Strissel, the theater arts department director, teams up with a talented group of leaders including HCA's music teacher and vocal director, Jennifer Melugin, and choreographer, Victoria Strissel, as well as a host of gifted volunteers to make this production a tremendous success. It's a performance for the whole family to come out and enjoy!
