Mount Prospect man charged with sex crimes

A 21-year-old Mount Prospect man is facing two felony charges after admitting to ongoing sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl who authorities said is now pregnant with the man’s child.

Jorge I. Jimenez, of 309 Hawthorne Circle, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He was arrested Friday. Jimenez was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail at the Cook County jail during a Saturday morning bond hearing.

Prosecutors said Mount Prospect police were alerted to the abuse by the Prospect Heights girl’s parents. During separate interviews with Jimenez and the girl, both told investigators that Jimenez began abusing her two years ago when she was 12. Prosecutors also said the girl is now between five and six months pregnant with Jimenez’s child.

If Jimenez posts bond, the judge ordered that he have no contact with the girl nor any unsupervised contact with children.

Jimenez is due back in court Feb. 25.
