How would you manage that?In depth facilities planning,and educational plan are major components of the overall Master Plan that is currently underway. This plan will serve as a guide to future needs to assist in financial planning. It is important to not focus solely on the current fiscal year, but also consider the communities needs 10 to 20 years from now.In tough economic times, many students (and working professionals) turn to a community college for its educational value. How do you ensure that a person's financial sacrifice equates into an educational benefit?MCC employs some of the best faculty in the area. Future contracts must keep the pay scale competitive, while working within the frame work of the difficult economic times.Is a tax rate increase needed and, if so, how do you justify it?No tax rate increase is needed. As a percent of MCC revenue the State level of funding continues to decrease. This trend must be reversed.Community colleges provide many services to a diverse population. Is there a service your college should be providing that it is not, or reaching a segment of the population that it is not?MCC does an excellent job of preparing students for a 4 year university. There may be great opportunities to better serve our community by increasing vocational education.If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? One of my sons is likley to attend MCC, and I know many of their contemporaries who currently attend the school.
