Man’s loss of his home is a shame
Certainly, there are times in our lives when we take steps backward instead of forward due to personal crises and circumstances that occur that could sway us on the dark side. However, John Wuerffel, who once resided on Hampton Lane in Schaumburg, had no one providing him an opportunity to stay in his house, providing other alternatives for shelter or helping him out in the crisis.
Why are we so cold and uncaring about a man who not only lost his house but his only shelter? I think it is ironic that Hoffman Estates-based Right Residential bought the house for $35,000. I do not think there is anything right about what happened to this man. He needs shelter, and I think that in my heart if I had the opportunity to purchase the house for John, I certainly would have rebuilt this man a future and not left him homeless. Yes, this man has some problems but can’t we find other alternatives for shelter for this man instead of taking it all away?
