No tobacco violations in Vernon Hills
Vernon Hills police reported no violations among 16 establishments checked earlier this month when minors attempted to buy tobacco products under the supervision of a police officer. This was the third and final round of checks to determine compliance with state and local laws pertaining to the sale of tobacco to minors. The department will also receive another grant of $1,870, which will be used to pay for checks of tobacco licenses between June 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013. Before the checks, each licensee will receive an educational letter from the police department, advising them of the upcoming enforcement plans and applicable law.
