Chicago Grandstand Big Band in concert Sept. 9

The Northwest Suburban Community Concert Association and District 214 Community Education will feature the ultimate tribute to the swing and jazz eras, the Chicago Grandstand Big Band, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Forest View Educational Center Theater, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights. Tickets are $20 (K-12 free with paying adult) at the door, at www.nscommunityconcerts.org or through District 214, (847) 718-7702. This group of 18 performs a classic big band repertoire the likes of Stan Kenton, Quincy Jones, Glenn Miller and Count Basie.
