Chimney fire damages Streamwood townhouse

The Streamwood fire department is investigating a chimney fire reported Friday night in a townhouse building on Acorn Drive that caused roughly $20,000 in damage.

The department responded to the fire in a four-unit building in the 200 block of Acorn at 9:20 p.m., according to a news release from Fire Chief Chris Clark.

There was minimal damage to the interior of the building, he said. Investigators are evaluating the fireplace to determine the cause of the fire.
