Palatine Park District hosts 16th annual Fall Festival

The Palatine Park District presents its 16th annual Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Palatine Stables, 1510 W. Northwest Hwy. in Palatine.

The family-friendly event includes pony rides, a petting zoo, horse-drawn wagon rides, make and take crafts, riding demonstrations, pumpkins for sale, concessions, and arts and crafts vendors.

Fall Festival draws hundreds of people each year for a complete day of family fun. Admission to the event is free. Fees will apply for some activities. Dogs are not allowed.

Palatine Stables, a Palatine Park District facility, provides training, lessons, and boarding services. The safety-oriented program focuses on all areas of horsemanship and the variety of well-trained school horses can accommodate all levels of riding.

Lessons are offered from introductory through the advanced hunter-jumper levels. Options include private lessons, introduction to horsemanship, and little riders introduction to horsemanship for ages 4 to 6.

Pony rides and pony parties are also popular options at the stables. During the summer months, a variety of horsemanship and pony camps are offered.
