Obama was right to oust McChrystal

Now that Gen. McChrystal has been fired we can expect to hear the usual uninformed lemming responses from the "Obama is always wrong" club. The sad thing is that 90 percent of the parrot squad knows nothing about military structure and has only the vaguest idea of why the Constitution dictates that the military is subservient to the civilian political structure.

The military can never be allowed to begin to think that they are the tail wagging the dog. We see the ultimate results of that failed thought process throughout Latin America and Africa. It was once said that "War is too important to leave to a General"... and that is a truism of the sustaining of a Democracy.

With more than a decade of military experience behind me during the '60s and '70s I think I can safely assert that President Obama took the proper course of action and indeed the only course of action possible under the circumstances.
