Pop culture, art highlight Schaumburg Library Comic Con

Schaumburg Township District Library is hosting two weeks of programs all about comics and pop culture with its Schaumburg Library Comic Con April 11-23.

Join the library for two weeks of superheroes, super villains, and all things comics and pop culture.

Featured all ages programs include:

• Batman Forever Scavenger Hunt: 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, beginning at the Hanover Park Branch Library. Follow clues around town to help rescue the caped crusader and earn a prize when you complete the mission.

• Artist Alley: 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, Central Library. Stop by to check out the work of local artists.

• Star Wars @ the Library: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 23, Central Library. It's a celebration of all things Star Wars with BB8 and light saber crafts, Star Wars Bingo and trivia and more. Costumes are encouraged.

• Schaumburg Library Drawing School: 6-7 p.m. April 12, 14, 19 and 21, location varies. A different artist will guide each session, teaching a variety of techniques and always keeping drawing fun.

Other programs include a virtual field trip to a comic bookstore for kids, comic-themed 3D printing for teens, and an insider's peek at the Star Wars galaxy for adults.
