Mount Prospect’s assistant village manager steps down
Mount Prospect’s assistant village manager announced she is stepping down, effective Jan. 31.
Nellie Beckner said in an email that she is “moving on to other adventures not related to the public sector.”
“I am grateful to have known and worked with such a great group of professionals,” she wrote.
Beckner was with Mount Prospect for more than 11 years. She began as a long range planner and moved to senior planner before being named assistant to the village manager in 2016 and assistant village manager in 2018.
“It was a very sad surprise,” Village Manager Michael Cassady said. “I personally recruited her out of our community development department. She is incredibly talented and intelligent. She was a tireless advocate for the members of our village team.”
