Battle of Bands deadline Monday
Local teen rock bands will have a chance to perform before a big hometown crowd this summer in the Schaumburg Township District Library's annual Battle of the Bands.
The concert will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6 in front of the Town Square pond at the southwest corner of Schaumburg and Roselle roads.
Those interested in participating should not procrastinate, however: Applications are due by Memorial Day this Monday, May 31.
Bands selected to compete will be notified in June.
To apply, bands must submit one of their songs on MP3 to teenservices@stdl.org or submit a link to a website such as Purevolume or MySpace.
No one who will be over the age of 21 on July 6 may participate in the competition.
Band members must be available at 5 p.m. July 6 to set up for the concert.
