COD receives EPA recognition

For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized College of DuPage for its work as a member of the Environmental Protection Agency's National Partnership for Environmental Priorities program.

Trisha Sowatzke of Warrenville, coordinator of Hazardous Materials Management at COD, worked with the EPA to establish chemical management goals during the extensive building renovations and expansions on campus during the past several years.

NPEP is a voluntary reduction program that encourages members to reduce or eliminate the use or release of priority chemicals by setting and meeting goals associated with source reduction, recycling and recovery opportunities. The NPEP also cultivates collaborative relationships between the EPA and public and private organizations.
