Good Old Days opens in Winfield

The NFL season wasn't the only thing that opened Thursday night.

With a live cover band and a beer garden, Winfield's Good Old Days celebration kicked off its four-day run that continues through Sunday, mostly in the village's downtown.

The festival continues with sports competitions and a special Friday-night version of the Cruzin Winfield Car Show, which usually takes place on Monday nights.

Saturday brings an open house at the historical society as well as an all-day carnival and live music.

On Sunday, a parade will highlight the festivities and Miss Illinois will stop by and help emcee an armchair quarterback competition. The celebration marks the village's 90th anniversary. For details on the festival, visit winfieldchamber.biz.
