For Dist. 301: Diaz, Weigand, Perry, Maraccini

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Residents in Central Unit District 301 are indeed fortunate to have seven excellent candidates seeking four positions on the board of eduction. Incumbents Rose Diaz and Gary Weigand and newcomers Richard Perry and David Maraccini are our choices. Diaz and Weigand have the board experience needed to move the district forward while maintaining a balanced budget. As a retired District 301 teacher and administrator, Perry brings valuable institutional knowledge to the table. Maraccini has been involved in the district and will also bring a strong financial management voice to the board. Candidates Tim Petschke, Rick Pryor and Laura Rabe all have much to contribute, and we encourage them to remain involved in district affairs. But for the best mix of experience and knowledge, we endorse Diaz, Weigand, Perry and Maraccini.
