Study about lesbians is wrong

I believe Beth Figuray needs to do some homework. From her recent letter in the Fence Post: “Recently, an article was published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior from the U.S. National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study (NLLFS). This is a study that has been running for 24 years, the longest-running of its kind. The study found that ‘none of the 78 NLLFS adolescents reports having ever been physically or sexually abused by a parent or other caregiver.'”

Beth, may I introduce you to Starkeisha Brown and Krystal Matthews? In the summer of 2008, both were charged with torturing Brown's then 5-year-old son: food deprivation to the point of kidney failure, cigarette burns all over his body, and more. Did I mention that Brown and Mathews are lesbian lovers?

This is just one story I came across; I have no idea if there are any others, but I suspect that there are. Being gay in no way prevents the dark side of humanity from rearing its ugly head. Regardless, this single case proves that the “researchers” for the 24-year-long “study” you mention obviously did not dig very deeply for their information, or if they did, they were selective in what they published.

It's too bad that there are folks like yourself who appear to be eager to jump on their bandwagon, blindly accepting what they say as truth.
