School principal leaving:Half Day School Principal Jennifer Able will leave after the school year ends for a post in another school district, officials announced Tuesday. Able will lead a school in the Northbrook area, Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 officials said. The District 103 board accepted Able's resignation Monday. Applications for the Half Day School vacancy should be submitted by Feb. 12. Apply online at district103.k12.il.us.Grayslake school finance meeting:Grayslake Elementary District 46 is scheduled to host an inaugural financial task force committee meeting at 6 p.m. today at Park School, 400 W. Townline Road, Round Lake. Officials have assembled the advisory committee in a quest to identify ways to fill a projected $2.2 million budget hole for the 2010-11 academic year. District 46's elected school board members will make the final decision about the budget. An introduction of committee members and brainstorming will be part of the advisory group's meeting.Allendale seeking volunteers:The Allendale Association in Lake Villa hosts an informational meeting for potential volunteers on Jan. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bradley Counseling Center, 420 Grand Ave., Lake Villa. Learn about opportunities to serve at the facility for troubled children. The social service agency is looking for people to act as mentors, tutors, foster parents and work in the gift shop among other ways to help. Candidates can learn about a variety job positions available at the park, including ride operations, admissions, games and food services. Six Flags is just east of Grand Avenue and the Tri-State Tollway.
