No injuries in fire near W. Chicago

No injuries were reported after a fire in an unincorporated area near West Chicago Sunday afternoon, according to a West Chicago Fire Protection District news release.

Around noon, West Chicago firefighters responded to the scene of a reported fire in the 29W100 block of Child's St., according to the release.

The homeowner was able to escape unharmed, though the home was deemed uninhabitable due to the damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
