Woman hurt in hit-and-run wreck in Addison; driver arrested

A man was arrested Thursday morning, suspected of being the driver in a hit-and-run accident left a woman injured in Addison.

The victim was eastbound on Lake Street at Addison Road at 7:05 a.m. when her vehicle was sideswiped by a northbound vehicle and rolled over, Addison police officer Megan Freeman said.

The driver of the northbound vehicle fled the scene, Freeman said, but was found a couple miles away and taken into custody. His name is being with held until charges against have been approved, Freeman said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Freeman said, adding that the roadway was shut down for about an hour while the accident was cleaned up.
