Schaumburg teacher pleads innocent to exposing himself
Former Schaumburg Christian School teacher Paul LaDuke, 75, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges he inappropriately touched himself in front of his students last month.
LaDuke, of Hanover Park, is facing a class 4 felony charge of sexual exploitation of a child. If found guilty, he could face one to three years in jail.
LaDuke was arrested after 16- and 17-year-old students in his 10 a.m. algebra class say he exposed and touched himself while sitting behind his teaching podium, covered with an apron, while the students did an assignment.
School administrators investigated the claim and on the same day fired LaDuke, who had been a teacher at the school for the past 26 years.
Prosecutors say LaDuke told police he’d engaged in similar conduct for the past 10 years, but his attorney Irv Seidler said Wednesday that no additional charges have been filed.
“No one has come forward that we’re aware of,” he said.
LaDuke posted 10 percent of his $40,000 bond and has been ordered to have no contact with the victims, their families, or anyone under age 18. His next court date is Jan. 26.
