Quinn death penalty stand is last straw

Quinn death penalty stand is last straw

It is time to recall Governor Quinn. It is bad enough that he’s driving business out of state with his reckless tax and spend policies, but now he has tossed aside a valuable tool in law enforcement, the death penalty.

This proven deterrent (Brian Dugan would have killed more of his rape victims if he hadn’t been afraid of the death penalty) has saved lives. No more. In addition, it was a great bargaining chip. Some suspects would confess or divulge information if the death penalty was taken off the table.

Now what do they have? “OK, criminal, we’ll only give you 29 consecutive life sentences instead of 30 if you confess and tell us where the body is hidden.” Good luck with that one.

Governor Quinn and his supporters are out of touch with reality. It’s time for him to go.
