Police charge one, seek more in Crystal Lake shooting

A Pennsylvania man has been jailed and police are searching for a car that left the scene of a Friday night shooting in Crystal Lake outside a restaurant.

Sang Yong Lee, 51, of the 1500 block of Carol Court in Jamison, Penn., was arrested Friday night and charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a pistol, Crystal Lake police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior said.

During a fight with a male relative, Lee fired multiple gunshots around 6 p.m. at a parking lot outside the Kyoto Japanese Restaurant on the 6000 block of North Northwest Highway, police said. The bullets didn't find their target and no one was hurt. Lee had sought the man out, Dziewior added.

A dark-colored, four-door sedan with Pennsylvania license plates was seen leaving the scene. Dziewior said police continue to try track the sedan, wanting to speak with the driver about possible involvement. Anyone who sees the car could call police at (815) 356-3620.

Meanwhile a McHenry County court judge set a $75,000 bond for Lee on Saturday. His next court date is 9 a.m. Wednesday.
