Lake in the Hills to host annual Hero Week

For the annual Lake in the Hills Hero Week, a Hero Wall honoring the community's veterans will be on display from Nov. 6-10 in the village hall lobby, 600 Harvest Gate. Stop by to write a message of gratitude and view the wall.

Be a community hero this week by making a donation to the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Food Pantry. The village hall will be accepting donations all week. The food pantry's immediate needs list is located on their website, alithfoodpantry.org/immediate-needs/.

On Friday, Nov. 10, join a Color Guard ceremony presented by American Legion Post 1231 at 9 a.m. around the village hall Veteran's Memorial.

It will be followed by a Veterans Day pinning ceremony. This ceremony inside the village hall is presented by Gentiva Hospice and will be the highlight of Hero Week. The 10 a.m. ceremony is open for all to attend.
