Dist. 214 offers basic skills class for tech jobs

District 214 Community Education Adult Education is offering free classes in reading, math and language skills needed for jobs in manufacturing and technology. Classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights, from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays.

There is a need for skilled workers in specialized technical areas that require excellent math, reading and writing skills. The Bridge to a Career Pathways in Technology class is a step in acquiring those skills that will enable participants to move to additional training in a college or other training programs. Class will start Tuesday, Sept. through Thursday, Dec. 15.
