Unity, cooperation lacking from GOP
What are the Republicans doing to get more jobs for the unemployed, keep people in their homes, and get more American people protected with affordable health care?
I loved the State of the Union Speech, but was dismayed by the Republican reaction - no sense of unity or cooperation or of the common good, just plain "no," "never," "nothing doing" obstructionism.
Of course I don't approve of our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and our destructive drone bombing of Pakistan; but contrasted with the Bush doctrine, I believe Obama when he says he's trying to end the wars.
I trust Obama and believe in his singleness of purpose to do the best for the people. Our biggest enemies (more than Al-Qaeda, et al.) are the lobbyists and lobbies who firmly control the Republican Party and are in the process of changing our democracy into an oligarchy, aided and abetted by the current U.S. Supreme Court. So much for defending the Constitution.
