Digital Magazines Now Available at Bloomingdale Public Library
Bloomingdale Public Library is pleased to announce the availability of Zinio for Libraries. Zinio is the world's largest online newsstand, offering multi-user access to popular publications.
Through the library's website at www.mybpl.org, Bloomingdale Public Library cardholders now have unlimited simultaneous access to a collection of complete digital magazines, which can easily be viewed on most computers and mobile devices. Zinio's unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video. Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, O, The Oprah Magazine and Readers Digest are just a few of the popular titles available.
Julie Keating, Head of Adult Services, says, “We are happy to be able to provide great content to our remote patrons with no due dates or limits on checkouts. Zinio for Libraries expands our digital offerings in a significant way. We already have a great collection of ebooks and eaudiobooks available, as well as an interactive picture book collection for children called Tumblebooks. Zinio makes a great addition to these resources, and we are already hearing wonderful feedback from those who have signed up for the service.”
For more information on how to access this service, call the Reference Desk at Bloomingdale Public Library at (630) 924-2730 or go to www.mybpl.org/zinio. Those interested in finding out more about the online resources at the library can sign up for the class, The 24/7 Library, being held on Tuesday, August 20.
