Jelly Cafe now open
Husband and wife team Billy and Kaitlin Kretsch recently opened Jelly Cafe in Mount Prospect. The breakfast/lunch spot is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Jelly Cafe serves an array of breakfast favorites, as well as lunch sandwiches, paninis and wraps, salads, desserts and smoothies. Signature dishes include the hash Benedict, almond berry French toast and egg-white omelets.

A little dinner music
Join conductor Jeffrey Hunt and the St. Charles Singers for a night of food and music at Niche. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, followed by a three-course meal. The menu starts with a mixed greens salad and crescendos to braised short ribs with Bull Run Farm kale, apple, farro and confit lemon. A beignet sampler — goat cheese and cherry, chocolate and strawberry — brings it home. $65 per person.
