Lake in the Hills woman sentenced for growing marijuana; other charges dropped
A Lake in the Hills woman was sentenced to two years of probation Tuesday after pleading guilty to producing five to 20 marijuana plants.
Anita M. Gustafson, 60, also must pay $3,690.00 in fines and fees. She had faced charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, domestic battery, and possession of 100 to 500 grams of marijuana. These charges were dropped Tuesday.
The charges stem from a Halloween call about shots fired outside Gustafson's home. During their investigation, police found the marijuana and eight marijuana plants in her home, authorities said.
The gun was fired during a fight with a family member, according to a court document. She was subsequently twice charged with battering the same family member.
