Library to Host an Intimate Evening with Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was a prolific private poet whose poems questioned the nature of immortality and death. Yet much about her life and work is misunderstood. Her life will be profiled in the program "I Dwell in Possibility: An Intimate Evening with Emily Dickinson" at 7 p.m. July 17 at Fremont Public Library.

Dickinson lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life, and was considered eccentric because of her penchant for white clothing and her reluctance to greet guests and, later in life, leave her room. Chicago actress Betsey Means will bring to life America's most loved and greatest woman poet.
