Wauconda Township recycling event Saturday

Wauconda Township will host its annual recycling extravaganza from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 1, at the township office, 505 W. Bonner Road.

Accepted items include air conditioners, batteries, bikes, cellphones, electronics, eye glasses, microwaves, medial needles, shoes and prescription drugs. Furniture, gasoline and large appliances will not be accepted.

Document shredding also will be available.

The event is open to Wauconda Township residents who live in Wauconda, Island Lake, Port Barrington, Lakemoor, Volo and unincorporated areas. Call (847) 546-2631 for more information.
