Friends of HE Parks Foundation names new chairman

Troy Triphahn has been named chairman of the Friends of the HE Parks Foundation.

Triphahn's late father, Scott R. Triphahn, was a former Hoffman Estates Park District board commissioner who helped established the foundation in 1999. The younger Triphahn, who grew up playing sports through the park district, is the vice president and COO of W-T Engineering, Inc. and is actively involved in corporate softball and basketball leagues.

He has a master's degree in business administration from Illinois State University and will serve a 3-year term as chairman.

The foundation raises money for Hoffman Estates families facing financial hardship so their children can participate in sports and other activities.
