Garden Club of Mt Prospect Celebrates 50th Anniversary on May 8

The Garden Club of Mt Prospect celebrated its 50th Anniversay at their May 8, 2013 luncheon. There were 130 members and friends that attended the Buffet Salad luncheon featuring all homemade salads prepared by Club members. The celebration also included a Birthday Cake. Members donated handmade gifts and baskets for their raffle and there were over 25 gift certificates and several flower baskets donated by local businesses. Club members also donated potted plants from their gardens that were sold. The Club was presented a 50th Anniversary award from the District 9 Garden Clubs of America. Included in the attendees were 7 past presidents of the club who were honored at the event. Several members were awarded honorary memberships and several members were given their 25 year pins.
