Schaumburg High choirs perform May 23 to benefit food pantry

These musicians will sing for food.

The Schaumburg High School Music Department presents the Senior Choral Recognition Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23 in the Weimer Auditorium. Admission is one nonperishable food item for the Schaumburg Township Pantry.

Featured on the program will be the Concert Choir, Choraliers and Chorus. Graduating seniors will be recognized and they will perform “The Old Irish Blessing.” Other selections will include “Jai Ho,” a song of dance and celebration from the film “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Java Jazz,” Nants’ “Ingoyama,” “The Circle of Life” from “The Lion King” and “Sweet Caroline.”

The S.H.S. choirs are directed by Tim McGlynn and Bev Tipps is the accompanist. Additional instruments will be played by members of the S.H.S. Music Department.
