Island Lake to discuss new police chief

The Island Lake village board will discuss a proposed contract for Police Chief Don Bero and other business when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The session will be at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave. If approved, Bero will receive an $80,000 annual salary and other employee benefits, documents indicate.
