Hydroelectric is next step to clean energy
This is in reference to my letter submitted and published in Fence Post on the primary election on candidates and certain aspects of the economy, primarily on energy and need for manufacturing.
On energy, I recommended installing windmills and a hydroelectric power plant on Cape Cod.
I noted the great news, days ago, first from Fox and the next day, on the back page (financial) of the Herald, with a picture of offshore wind turbines in the Netherlands. Ken Salazar, commerce secretary, declared approval of $2 billion for the Cape Cod project.
I trust all the liberals and the followers of the leader of global warming support this great history making event. I wish they would go further and include the hydroelectric power plant.
There is another electric producing sea or ocean breeze plant that should be considered. This one should be located in California.
These projects will give us a step up on clean energy development and be a symbol to the world. Serious minded educated people realize this will only supply a small amount of our overall energy requirement.
There have been several letters recently that require comment. Do you ever question the federal, state and local taxes that are added on to those gallons?
You may soon have the privilege of paying quite a bit more if cap and tax is forced on us.
