Goebbert Road, between noon Sept. 24 and 10:30 a.m. Sept. 27.bull; A man took a quart of oil from the Shell gas station, 3 W. Algonquin Road, around 11:10 p.m. Oct. 3. He said he did not have the money to pay for the oil, so he put $1.25 in change on the counter along with his wristwatch, valued at $20. He paid for gas and one quart of oil but said he needed the second quart, too. Loss was estimated under $3 after deducting the $1.25.bull; A man carrying two Halloween-themed shopping bags full of clothes fled with a female accomplice from Old Navy, 330 E. Rand Road, around 12:15 p.m. Oct. 3.bull; Burglars stole the in-dash radio faceplate out of an unlocked 1993 Ford Explorer in a driveway on the 800 block of North Belmont between 7 p.m. Oct. 1 and 9 a.m. Oct. 2. Value was estimated at $160. Someone stole a faceplate at the same home June 23, 2009.bull; Burglars stole a set of house keys valued at $20 out of an unlocked 2004 Infiniti in a driveway on the 600 block of North Dunton Avenue between 7 p.m. Oct. 1 and 9 a.m. Oct. 2. The offenders forced one of the keys into the ignition; the key broke off and the offenders fled. bull; Burglars pried a rear sliding patio door at a home on the 2300 block of North Drury Lane between 1:30 and 9 p.m. Oct. 2 and stole sterling silver flatware set for 12 valued at $10,000, a gold watch, coins valued at $50, and jewelry with precious gems.bull; Ernestino Valdez, 32, of the 4900 block of Weber Drive, Rolling Meadows, was arrested around 11:25 p.m. Oct. 3 after a traffic stop at Old Wilke Road and White Oak Street. He was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license after two DUIs, misdemeanor illegal transportation of open alcohol, and traffic violations. His court date is Nov. 8.Barringtonbull; Christian Vega, 18, of the 700 block of Navajo Drive, Carpentersville, was arrested around 4 p.m. Sept. 30 at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St., and charged with disorderly conduct for being under the influence of marijuana in school. His court date is Nov. 17.bull; Elliot J. One offender kept her distracted while another thief stole jewelry and cash out of her home.Hoffman Estatesbull; Burglars stole a GPS valued at $200 out of a 2010 Ford Escape on the 5000 block of Chatham Drive between 3 and 7 a.m. Sept. 28. The offenders dropped another GPS on the ground near the home. That GPS was stolen, along with a laptop computer, which was not recovered, out of a 2005 Toyota Corolla on the 2000 block of Cabrillo Lane during the same time frame. Burglars also stole a gym bag, wallet, hair dryer and hair straightening tool out of a 1999 Mitsubishi on the 2000 block of Cabrillo.bull; Burglars stole a GPS unit valued at $150, a headset and coin purse out of an unlocked 2006 Honda Pilot on the 2000 block of Amelia Lane between midnight and 5 a.m. Sept. 28. bull; A vandal hurled a rock that smashed a 4-foot by 4-foot window on a vacant building on the 2000 block of West Higgins Road. Rand Road between 4:07 and 4:15 p.m. Sept. 29.Schaumburgbull; Sara L. Lepard, 19, of the 0-100 block of Remington Lane, Schaumburg, was arrested around 6:10 p.m. Sept. 28 at Woodfield Shopping Center and charged with retail theft. Reports said she twice took several items of clothing into one fitting room and returned all but one shirt. Two shirts hidden in her purse were valued at $47. Her court date is Oct. 24.bull; Thieves stole a laptop computer and carrying case, passport and work notes out of a guest room in a hotel on the 1700 block of East Higgins Road around 9 p.m. Sept. 27. The victim lost his room key and believed the thieves used the key to enter his room. Value was estimated at $5,530.bull; Burglars stole an iPod and wallet out of an unlocked 2000 GMC Carryall on the 1100 block of Regency Drive between 11 p.m. Sept. 26 and 7 a.m. Sept. 27 and used several cards in the wallet in Bolingbrook, Glendale Heights, and Roselle.bull; Burglars broke the skylight on the Schaumburg Athletic Association concession stand in a park on the 2500 block of Holmes Way between 6 p.m. Sept. 27 and 8:15 a.m. Sept. 28 and stole drinks, candy, chips, hamburgers, brats and hot dogs. Value was estimated at $400.bull; Burglars broke into a 2004 Honda sedan on the 1100 block of Copperfield between 7 p.m. Sept. 28 and 3 a.m. Sept. 29 and stole a GPS valued at $200.bull; Vandals sprayed pink and black paint on a the side, back, rim, and front and rear license plates of a 1997 white Ford truck in a condominium lot on the 1400 block of Fairlane Drive between Sept. 13 and 28. Two weeks earlier, the owners' 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck, with proper parking permit, was towed by Northwest Recovery. The red truck was sprayed with black paint, four tires were slashed, and the battery stolen. Damage was estimated at $1,525.
