Awkward celebration nets Sharp air time
Patrick Sharp's awkward goal celebration after he scored on a power play in Game 4 got plenty of traction in Canada.
TSN, Canada's version of ESPN, had it No.1 in its top 10 of celebrations gone wrong.
At first, Sharp looked like he wanted to swipe the ice like Patrick Kane does, then he ran into Kane and fell as his teammates rushed to greet him.
"It was a little embarrassing, but I was excited about it," Sharp said. "It was a big goal and I thought it could be the difference in the game so I was just showing my excitement.
"I always do stupid things when I score, and I don't have anything planned. I just get so excited. I told (Kane) he should have stopped me because I embarrassed myself there."
Kane said he wanted no part of stopping Sharp.
"I probably should have grabbed him when I was close to him in the corner," Kane said. "But I know when someone messes up one of my celebrations I tend to get mad, so I let him go. Now he's saying I should have grabbed him. It was pretty funny, especially at the end."
Sharp, who is one of the best pranksters on the team, said thankfully the focus is on Game 5 on Saturday and he didn't hear much from his teammates.
"He had a few chips there," Duncan Keith said.
