Bears sign ex-NU wideout Markshausen

The Bears signed wide receiver Zeke Markshausen to a two-year contract and released QB Mike Teel. Terms of the Markshausen deal were not disclosed.

Markshausen was brought in by the Bears during their 2010 rookie mini-camp for a workout after spending four seasons at Northwestern (2006-10), joining the Wildcats as a walk-on.

The 5-11, 185-pound receiver entered his senior season at Northwestern with one collegiate catch for six yards before compiling 91 receptions for 858 yards and three touchdowns in 2009.

His 91 receptions last year were second-most and seventh-most in school and Big Ten single-season history, respectively
