The Chicago Rush escaped from Texas with their first Arena Football League win of the season, defeating the San Antonio Talons 48–41.

The Rush added two more touchdowns in the third period with Coffman rushing for a score and defensive lineman Brian McNally scooping up a loose ball in the end zone for his first professional touchdown.

A pair of fourth-quarter TDs by the Talons (0-2) closed the gap to 42-41 with 7:16 to play, but Coffman hit J.J. Payne for a 13-yard TD reception to preserve the win with 1:35 to play.
