Woodland jazz band to perform

Woodland Middle School Jazz Band members will travel to Vernon Hills for a special performance at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, in the Carson’s court of Westfield Hawthorn mall, at routes 60 and 21. The students will perform holiday songs that include “Holiday Joy,” “Let it Snow!” and “Frosty the Snowman.” This is the second year that band director Carolyn Awe’s jazz band students will perform for the shoppers of Westfield Hawthorn. “The members of the Woodland Middle School Jazz Band and I are very excited for this unique opportunity,” Awe said. “We invite the community to come out and listen to jazzin’ holiday tunes.”
