WHS dancers in two prestigious shows

For the 10th consecutive year, Wheeling High School’s Orchesis group has been selected to perform in Dance Chicago’s New Moves and Dance Carnival programs. The members of the Orchesis group will perform two works in Dance Chicago at “Stage 773” in Chicago.

Choreography by Lizzie Mackenzie (former River North dancer) will be performed on Thursday, Nov. 10, in the New Dances concert. The concert will include cast members Dani Bitout, Mallorie Bromer, Chelsie Coren, Aaron Jung, Marika Paciorek, Harlan Rosen, and Melody Sylvester.

“Festival of Colors,” a classical Indian dance choreographed by WHS senior Kamneev Rai, will be performed in the Dance Carnival on Nov. 17. Cast members include Menli Baygeldiyeva, Aaron Jung, Nisha Karwal, Jess Musto, Kaitlyn Nielsen, Kamneev Rai, and Tegan Reschke. Wheeling’s Orchesis director is Diane Rawlinson.
