If we want to follow Bible faithfully ...
Rocky Ruggiero pointed out in his letter to the editor May 22 that he isn’t going to vote for President Obama in November due to his not following one of the Bible’s teachings. Congressman Paul Ryan certainly isn’t following Bible teachings either.
Ryan’s proposed budget called “Roadmap for America’s Future” and also “Path to Prosperity” will cut programs that feed hungry Americans and help those in need, which are prominent Bible teachings (Matthew 25:35-46; Leviticus 19:9-10; Isaiah 58:10-11).
Sojourners, a Christian ministry based in Washington D.C., calls this budget immoral and many Republican politicians are in favor of it. So, if we want to follow the Bible faithfully, we shouldn’t vote for those politicians either.
