I am able to work well with others to get the job done. I will work to give residents the services they are accustomed to and the safety they deserve. I pride myself on working for the community.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.I think the taxes are in line. We have worked very hard to balance the budget with the revenue we have and keep services up to the high standards we have. Going forward we will work on bring new revenue with new businesses and redevelopemnet.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.The safety of residents in their homes and in community areas. There have been some scamers targeting older residents. As Public Safety laison, I work with the police department to educate the public on what to look for and be aware of things in the neighborhood. Also our roads need to be safe. This means arresting impaired drivers and making the driving public safe. I will work to keep our residents safe as well as our police officers safe on the job.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The budget is looked at very thoroughly every year and is balanced using funds we have. Some project are put hold, some are moved to the top of the list. The residents are the first concern.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?We talk about the community all the time. Right now I am working with the Business Promotion Committee and the Chamber of Commerce to promote small business by using services available to them such as mentoring programs and marketing ideas to help them stay in the community.
