Fox River Grovebull; The Fox River Grove Police Department, in conjunction with the McHenry County Sheriff's narcotics and canine units, arrested two Fox River Grove men on several drug charges Thursday morning, after executing a search warrant at their home in the 100 block of Beachway Drive. During the search, which occurred at 10 a.m., police discovered 90 grams of cocaine, a .22-caliber rifle, ammunition, four grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,091 in cash - the drugs had a street value of $3,500, police said. Arrested were Benjamin J. Dynek, 20, and Jeffrey M. Henrikson, 20, both of the 100 block of Beachway Drive. Both were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Dynek also was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Henrikson faces additional misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and firearm ammunition without a Firearm Owner's identification card. Both men are being held at the McHenry County jail and are awaiting a bond hearing this morning. Fox River Grove police had been investigating the house since Feb. 6, the day they received a complaint about drug activity at the apartment complex.Elginbull; Julie A. Newberry, 22, of the 1100 block of Chippewa Circle, Carpentersville, and Evan V. Becker, 42, of the 2000 block of West 18th Place, Chicago, were each charged with felony retail theft Wednesday, police said. They are accused of trying to steal more than $350 in copper spools from Menards, 825 S. Randall Road, on the same day. As well, Newberry faces additional charges for aggravated battery and resisting a police officer, after she pushed a store security guard to the ground and for pushing the arresting officer, reports said. Becker's bond was set at $35,000 and Newberry must pay a total of $1,600 to get out of jail. Becker is due in court Wednesday at the Kane County Judicial Center, while Newberry is to appear in court Wednesday and Thursday. bull; A women's Citizen watch, an iPod docking station, an MP3 player, a 42-inch LG television, an iPod Nano, a 32-inch flat-screen television and $900 - $100 of it in coins - were stolen Wednesday from a home in the 1100 block of Hunter Drive, Elgin, police said. Reports said the suspect entered the house by breaking the window on the front door. bull; Anthony S. Quezada, 19, of the 1700 block of Maple Lane, Elgin, was arrested for charging nearly $300 in merchandise to someone else's debit card. Police said the incident occurred Feb. 6 and that Quezada charged food, gas, cigarettes and more. His bond was set at $15,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.Carpentersvillebull; Anthony E. Rodgers, 42, of the 2200 block of Tepee Avenue, Carpentersville, was charged with forgery for signing his name to the back of a $784.05 check and then cashing it on Feb. 16, police said. His bond was set at $2,000 and he has a March 5 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.Huntleybull; Robert S. McPeak, 28, of the 1500 block of Glacier Trail, Carpentersville, was charged on Feb. 16 with theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. McPeak also had two outstanding DuPage County warrants. McPeak was taken to the McHenry County jail.bull; A cell phone was stolen on Feb. 18 from a basketball court at the Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center, 10450 Algonquin Road, police said.bull; A GPS unit, an iPod, a radar detector, a radio faceplate and sunglasses were stolen on Feb. 19 from an unlocked vehicle on the 11200 block of Main Street, police said.bull; A GPS unit and cash were stolen from a vehicle on Feb. 20 on the 10900 block of Wing Pointe Drive, police said.bull; A wallet was stolen from a vehicle on Feb. 20 on the 10800 block of Great Plaines Court, while a radar detector was stolen from a vehicle on the 10400 block of Great Plaines Drive, police said.bull; Burglars broke into two vehicles on Feb. 21 on the 10800 block of Harry Drive, police said.
