Schaumburg police investigate death
A man was found dead outside of his Schaumburg condo Monday afternoon, and police continue to investigate.
A passer-by discovered the man, 58, shortly after 3 p.m. lying unresponsive outside his home on Prairie Square.
“It’s a death investigation, not a homicide or murder investigation,” Schaumburg Sgt. John Nebl said. “There were no obvious signs of trauma or criminal activity.”
Police are not releasing the name of the man pending notification to his family.
Schaumburg officials were familiar with individual and had given him medical assistance in the past, although Nebl said he doesn’t know if that was a contributing factor.
The Schaumburg Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
