Fine public servant in District 4
As citizens of DuPage County at election time, we once again have an opportunity to re-elect a dedicated public servant to the county board to represent us in District 4.
He is Jerry "JR" McBride, a Glen Ellyn resident, businessman, husband and father of five. I have known JR for over a decade, first as a parent and then as a dedicated school booster who worked tirelessly to raise money to support the work of his public high school.
I was always impressed with his desire to serve others and invest himself in work that mattered to improve his community. That is why I was not surprised when he stepped forward to advocate for us as citizens on the broader, county stage. JR has been an exceptional collaborator during his tenure on the county board and he continues to represent all of us by reminding policy makers that elected officials need to be accountable to how they spend taxpayer dollars to serve our most urgent needs.
Moreover, public servants need to be accessible and responsive to the folks who elected them and JR certainly upholds that standard. To learn more about JR's background and positions, you can go to www.votemcbride.com.
I am certain if you do, you will conclude as I have that we have a fine public servant who we need to return to the DuPage County Board.
