Lisle earns share of IEC title
Kelly Urban scored 13 points and Kristina Fernette had 7 points and 14 rebounds, as Lisle clinched at least a share of the Interstate Eight Conference championship with a 37-28 win at Coal City on Monday. The Lions (21-5, 10-0) can clinch the outright title at home Thursday with a win over Peotone, which remained a game behind Lisle with a 59-49 win over Plano Monday.
Montini 42, Guerin 27:
The No. 1 Broncos, leading just 18-15 at halftime, outscored host Guerin 15-4 in the third quarter to overcome an ice-cold 14-of-61 shooting night. Kelly Karlis scored 7 points and Sara Ross 6 for Montini (26-1, 9-0 Suburban Christian Conference Blue), which plays at Walther Lutheran Thursday for the outright SCC Blue championship.
Walther Lutheran 43, Wheaton Academy 32:
Jamie Netzley had 8 points and 6 rebounds and Abby Olson 7 points and 6 boards for the host Warriors.
Benet 48, Nazareth 36:
Kathleen Doyle scored 11 points and Christen Prasse and Emily Schramek added 9 apiece for the No. 14 Redwings (16-8, 3-3 East Suburban Catholic Conference) in Lisle.
