Fugitive nabbed in Wauconda

A man who made the McHenry County Sheriff's Office top-10 fugitive list after eluding police for two years was captured in Wauconda late Saturday, authorities said.

McHenry County Sheriff's Sgt. Tony Penna said an anonymous CrimeStoppers tipster led authorities to Thomas J. Bellino, 21, whose last known address was in Lakemoor.

Penna said the informant called CrimeStoppers after noticing Bellino's information on the sheriff's Web site with the top 10 fugitives. Bellino was held Sunday in the Lake County jail in Waukegan.

"We've nabbed a few from the Web page," Penna said.

Penna, who's on the sheriff's fugitive apprehension unit, said Wauconda police seized Bellino without incident from a home about 11:45 p.m. Saturday. He said Bellino was wanted on the McHenry County burglary warrant issued about two years ago and for an aggravated battery charge in Lake County.
